at the large auctions. Begin the auction with everyone being able to bid. Have certain items set aside for only service team members to bid on, new leaders to bid on and also some items for people who have only been able to collect under 100 bucks for what ever reason. You will find it necessary to make up some of your own rules for auctioning off items to keep everyone happy. You could also have a sealed auction for Christmas. Have each person who wants to participate in the auction to bring a wrapped item with the value of the gift written in the top corner. Auction off each them by giving them only what the package is worth. Only let them buy one item, this way everyone is guaranteed to receive an item. Mini Auctions were designed to create anticipation for the big one. Auction off one or two really neat items during one of the SU meetings, normally the one prior to the month you plan to have your big auction. |
