TITLE: SERVICE UNIT CONSULTANT
APPOINTED BY: SERVICE UNIT MANAGER/STEERING COMMITTEE
TERM OF OFFICE: One Year (concurrent with Service Unit Manager/Steering
Committee)
JOB SUMMARY
Enables Leaders to develop their leadership
skills and encourages participation in Service Unit, District and Council activities
insuring compliance with Council goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
| Within the framework
of GSUSA and your council insures that compliance with the regulations governed by the
following are met: Policies, Standards, Guidelines and Position Statements, governmental
and affiliated organizations regulations and standards. Help the Leader/Co-leader(s) find satisfaction in her/his work by giving encouragement and recognition. Assist the Leader/Co-leader(s) in analyzing Troop/Group problems. Assist the Leader/Co-leader(s) in evaluating her/his progress. Encourage the Leader/Co-leader(s) to be active member(s) of the Service Unit. Attend Service Unit meetings and designated Service Team meetings to report on own work and to share in the work of these groups. Confer with and report to the Service Unit Manager or Steering Committee on progress, needs and problems. Help interpret relationships between sponsors and Troops/Groups. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Membership in Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Accept the principles of the Girl Scout movement and the Girl Scout Promise and law. Knowledge and understanding of the Girl Scout Program. Ability to work with girls and/or adults. Willingness to acquire and impart information through training, conferences and reports. Willingness to commit time, energy and interest necessary to meet the requirements. Ability to organize, direct, delegate and motivate individuals and groups. Ability to plan, analyze and evaluate data. Good verbal and written communication skills. |
